I posted this under the paraphenilia(sp?) section. I was wondering if anyone ever reads that far down on the board.
Perone's, I understand, are from Spain. It is a type of glass wineskin. It was this lovely vessel that got me hooked on reds.
Anyone know were to get one? Appare`ntly they come in different sizes.

Perone had me stumped until a colleague told me the term is Porrón. For the benefit of those other thah cd4814 who read this and wonder what on earth we're on about, a Porrón is basically globe-shaped (shapes do vary), with quite a tall opening at the top to pour in the wine, and a spout ending in a very small hole at one side. (Imagine a glass teapot without a handle.) You grasp the Porrón and up-end it with the nozzle pointing towards your mouth. The original purpose was for workers in the vineyards to have wine with their lunch without needing a glass each and without compromising oral hygiene(!). These days they're mostly to be found in tourist bars, where the locals amuse themselves by watching drunken foreign tourists pour wine all down their shirt-fronts. Any Spanish souvenir-shop or duty-free outlet should have something along those lines. Whether you might be able buy one outside Spain is doubtful.
