Hello,
While in France this summer I enjoyed a wine that is made in the Loire Region. The French wine label is very different than the California labels that i am familiar with so please excuse the order, the wine label reads: Les Veilleurs, 2002, Cheverny, Domaine de Veilloux. Has anyone heard of this wine, can i purchase it in the States?

Hi Colibri, and welcome to the Wine Board. Unless you have your spelling wrong (very common around here) can't find it in the USA. It could be Les Meilleurs, but can only find it France, and that's even in current vintages.

Thank you so much for responding. Yes, that is the correct spelling because I had the bottle next to me. I'm bummed out about not being able to buy the wine locally. I don't drink many red wines and I really liked the taste.
Okay, one more question, do you have any idea what kind of wine is similar to Cheverny?

I haven't yet seen any Cheverney wines locally, but they're out there. Try on www.winesearcher.com and search for Cheverney in the USA. There are a few shops in CA, including K&L over in Redwood City, that carry Cheverney. Finding a similar wine to the Les Veilleurs Rouge is going to be tough because of the strange blend. It's about 40% each Pinot Noir and Gamay with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon.

A lot of smaller vintages never leave the French shores for ours. Bright side is.... I would see this as an excellent reason (spelled "excuse") to book another trip.
