I am a novice wine shopper and can never seem to pick out a wine that I truly enjoy. I am very picky and know what I like but I don't know how to describe it (a serious problem). I have read all about wine terminology but had no luck matching the two. First off I enjoy reds the most. I once had a Chilean red zin. that was beatiful, but I havn't found many Cali. in my under 20 price range that do the trick. The best way to describe what I like is soft, flavorful, not acidic, not too fruity, a little dry but more of a grape taste. Does this make any sense. ANY SUGGESTIONS. Also I live in the Miami area, any suggestions as to where to find my wine.

Thanks for your time.

Hi Chirripo, and welcome to the Wine Board. Try a Cline, California, Zinfandel, around $10.

I'll second that one. Local shop is having their annual grand tasting and 20% off sale this coming Saturday. We plan to pick up at least one case of the Cline CA Zin.

Not trashing you, but the best way is to go to tastings and drink, drink, drink. You will find preferences, and over the years these preferences will change. The important thing is to have fun on the journey.
