Am trying to find Laithwaites Il Papavero,an Italian red wine to taste.Anyone know where in Penna. I can locate it?I'm looking for a wine for daily use,2 glasses in the evening to relax,stronger than grape juice but less than dry,not sweet,am learning from comments posted,really curious about Il Papavero

Cozmos, I found it mentioned in a posting by the Sunday Times Wine Club (UK) as a Vino da Tavola (table wine) blend of Negroamaro from Puglia and Montepulciano from Abruzza, selling for about 50 pounds Sterling per case. Have no idea where you could find it here in the States.
You could try working with a retailer in your area to try to order some from one of his distributors, but be prepared to buy at least a case for a special order (the more, the merrier). Otherwise, suggest you look back under the various threads on this board for the last few months to a year or so, and you'll find lots of notes on reds that could serve as alternatives.

I realize you're in Reading, but in the event that you pop down to the philly region, zip over the Ben Franklin to Moore Brothers. Good people, good prices, they'll order whatever you want or suggest something similar.
ps. they can't ship to PA, but you know that.
It's worth a trip.
