- Jrb599 - 04-27-2008 I made my first kit of Barolo. http://www.americanbrewmaster.com/product_info.php?cPath=100_134_101&products_id=1381 That one actually. I just got a wine cooler. I bottled today and was wondering what temperature can my Barolo should be stored at. Also I believe this wine can age for a while, how long should I let it sit. Any recommendations or advice would be great. Thanks! - wineguruchgo - 04-28-2008 Hi There! Welcome to the wineboard. Nebbiolo has to age for a while. Probably 3-4 years. I wouldn't drink a "Barolo" before 7 years. It takes a while for nebbiolo to relax and become drinkable. - Jrb599 - 04-28-2008 Well that leads me to another question than. My wine has corks (not synthetic). Don't I have to worry about them drying or rotting even if they are on their sides. - Kcwhippet - 04-28-2008 You really only have to worry about drying corks if you store the bottles standing up for about 5 (or more) years in a dry environment. The corks shouldn't rot for about another 20 to 30 years (unless you got some really inferior quality corks). |
