I recently experienced a Zinfandel called Chateau Montelena (sic?) at a restaurant. Since then, I can find nothing about the wine or winery in stores here, or in your database. Would appreciate any knowledge.

Chateau Montelena is a small to medium sized winery in the Napa Valley..highly regarded and owned by the Barrett family...winemaker is Bo Barrett. Winery's first winemaker was Mike Grgich (now owner of Grgich Hills. It is best know, perhaps, for Chardonnay, though it's Cabernet Sauvignon is also very high image and the Zinfandel certainly has its fans too.

The wines are generally allocated in each market, so you're more like to find them in restaurants or at wine specialty shops rather than supermarkets or regular liquor stores.

The address is: Chateau Montelena, 1429 Tubbs Lane, Calistoga, CA 94515 (707) 942-5105

PsS. Because you live in Florida (one of the wine unfriendliest states in the nation, with laws making it a felony for vintners to ship wine to its residents from outside the state), it is almost a certainty that the winery will not ship wine directly to you there.

Curmy is aggitating again...
