A couple years ago I had a glass of red wine. It was sweet, fruity. I loved it. Most wines I drink I find after the 3rd sip they become bitter or they start to bite back. I enjoy having wine with a meal or just having a glass. Is there a wine you recommend?

Hi TJ, and welcome to the Wine Board. There may be a local Texas wine or from a state that you visited that was a sweet red wine. Just about the only ones that are widely distributed are the Italian Lambruscos.

Welcome to the board TJ. Suggest you look for a retailer in the Dallas area that holds wine-tastings regularly (usually on Saturday afternoons in the San Antonio area). Use those events to identfy wines that suit your taste and that can be supplied by specific retailers.

If you find yourself in the Texas Hill Country, especially in the Fredericksburg area, there are numerous wineries in that area, all of which have tasting rooms that can offer you opportunities to taste a variety of wines to help you identify those that suit your taste. Or try an Internet search for Texas wineries.... seem to recall there's one in Arlington, but there are a total of 165 scattered across the state. have fun.
