I'm so young, it's illegal for me to drink wine... o.O Anyway, I just like learning about it. It seems the one people talk about the most is the Merlot. I saw it at Wal*Mart today... I was surprised to see all the wines they have! It was funny, a person my age in the wine isle... There were two elderly people looking at me as if I were lost... Maybe I was? Anyway, back to what I was getting to, what is your FAVORITE wine? Not being old enough to drink wine, I have no idea what to try when I'm 21! ^_^ lol Like I said before, I'm leaning towards the Merlot, just because you guys seem to like it so much.

Actually, I prefer Merlot blended with other grape varieties rather than on its own. In Bordeaux it is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and other grapes. It Australia it is sometimes blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Italy does have some good wines based solely on the Merlot grape, and Australia has a nice one from Irvine (but rather expensive). Blackstone and Bogle are two California wineries that produce a decent Merlot but I would not call it my favorite grape variety by any means. My favorites include Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc (white wines) and Pinot Noir, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon (red wines).

Okay, thanks for the info! ^_^ I've heard of Zinfedel. They were talking about a Cani, the sweet wine. I think I'll try that after my Merlot experience.
