- ddan - 09-01-2000 I'm applying for a waiter's position at a fine Italian rest. with an extensive wine list. I need to know where I can get detailed info. about the characteristics and differences of particular Italian wines. - mrdutton - 09-01-2000 Dan, welcome to the Wine Board. Your question is fairly broad in nature, but maybe the below will help you a bit. Got to your local Barnes & Knobel Bookstore and check the shelves there. You will find plenty of reference works on wines in general and even a few tomes on particular wine regions. One that I like that covers all of the major wine producing regions of the world is The Larousse Encyclopedia of Wine. It is sole at B&N. Best of luck to you with your new job application.
