We enjoy white wine that is full bodied, moderately sweet, and smoothe. We just recently tried one that was German. Do you have any recommendations that we could try that is made from Germany? I would appreciate your input.

You'll probably need to try several different types of German white wines (usually Rieslings) to find the one that matches your description. The sweetest are dessert wines, made from grapes that have become overripe on the vines and even nipped by frost. Suggest you read up on the subject in the forum on this board entitled Rieslings. The Beerenauslese (BA) and Trochenbeerenauslese (Tba) are the dessert wines. Those tend to be quite expensive. An inexpensive selection of dinner wines is currently available from Schmitt-Sohn in the form of a four-bottle set of 375 ml bottles; the set includes simple Mosel-Sahr-Ruwer (MSR) Riesling and Kabinett (both dry), Spatlese (with a very slight sweetness, and Auslese (with a bit more sweetness). The set is being sold at Sam's Warehouse Clubs for about $7.99. If what you had is even sweeter than the Auslese, then you probably had either the BA or Tba, and can use that information to search your retailer's shelves.

As Hotwine mentioned, Shmitt-Sohn makes some of the best values in moderately priced German wines, and in an easy drinking syle. If you're lucky enough to encounter anything from Kurt Darting(Pfalz), you will truly be blessed. In Florida, you should also be able to find some good off-dry rieslings from Ontario in the larger chain stores (Pelee Island for sure, maybe Konzelmann).

Slapstick, I notice that I mentioned a forum called "Riesling", and that there ain't any such thing! Sorry 'bout that! Look in the forum entitled "German Wines".
