i'm afraid to open a bottle of moscato allegro and waste it if i do not like the taste. what does it taste like and is it similar to moscato d'asti(haven't tried yet but want to). my mother loves moscato d'asti and i trust her taste buds.

Should be sweet with orange and apricot flavors. All you can do is try it and hope you like it. Personally, I like them and appreciate the taste. Not everyone enjoys sweeter wines.

Yes Muscat is a grape, but there are three distinctly different versions of it, and probably more.
