A welcome surprise . . . we enjoyed a pair of 2004 Da Vinci DOCG Chianti's during the Super Bowl - er, "Big Game" - and although I foolishly let the firewood get wet and had to resort to a Pine Log it was still a delightful little discovery. Just wanted to share. I've already discarded the receipt but I believe each bottle was in the range of $14.

Last bottle enjoyed: Jadot Pinot Noir Bourg

Did you eat anything with it? It would have gone well with our meatball sandwiches.

Meatballs are EXACTLY what she prepared! In some sort of (vague here) grape & barbecue sauce, in the crockpot. Apps were chili & black bean nachos. For Xmas I purchased a 2 pound Truffle sampler from Defluri's and they made up a wonderful finisher. I think - still thinking but cannot recall - I think we have some Horton rasperry wine but I never got around to it.

Two bottles is hardly enough to make sweeping recommendations, but they were good enough to buy a few more! Viva Chianti!

I've had this one -- it's really pretty good. It has an olive finish flavor that makes it really good with Italian food.
