- winophite - 12-23-2007 Well, something different anyway. $5 at local drug store, 12.5 % alc by vol. served chilled. Appears as a clear strawberry pink in the glass with nose of earthy mixed berries. The favor was similar to that of pink table grapes with maybe a blueberry overtone. The acidity was low with very little tartness. It did leave a pleasant linguring sweetness on the lips, while not tasting particularly sweet. I'm not sure what the point of white merlot is, unless perhaps it's a use for inferior grapes not good enough to make the red. Oh well interesting taste trial anyway and only 5 bucks. WP - Innkeeper - 12-23-2007 As wines of that ilk go, it is one of the more acceptable. Their White Zin was until fairly recently when it took a turn towards a lolly pop. |
