My husband and I are new to the wine experience. I started looking for a good red wine to have a glass before bed. Now we are trying to get a little more educated in the finer aspects. It is so overwhelming going into a liquor store and trying to guess which wine will be good for dinner or to bring over to a friends house to drink with snacks. We both like red wines better than the whites. My husband likes it dry and I like it a little sweeter and fruitier. What would be some good choices to try?

Welcome to the board, Cindy. Suggest you try a Beaujolais from Georges Duboeuf. He has several different ones on the U.S. market, and all are dry yet fruity, so they might do well for both you and your husband. Pick up a couple of different ones, if you can find them at your local liquor store/wine shop, and compare their characteristics, make notes, and go from there. And have fun.
