I don't know a thing about wine but was recently given a gift of a bottle which the gift giver indicated as valuable. It is a 1975 Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de Las Cases. It also says Saint-Julien-Medoc, etc etc Were they pulling my leg or does anyone know anything about this wine? Please respond to my e-mail address: mjrs@ptialaska.net

Robins, Welcome to the baord. Some-one likes you very much. Assuming the bottle has had the storage it merits, you have a marvelous wine experience ahead of you. This wine has just come into it`s own. It is a huge mouthfull of concentrated juice that, IMHO is one of the stars of the vintage along with La Mission. Because the vintage has been so reluctant to show its` class, this wine is not selling for what comparable Leovilles` bring. It can still be purchased under a 100 bucks. Open and Enjoy. winoweenir

Drink it! Wine is made to be drunk. Some of it is made to be drunk young, some after years of aging.
The value you get from the wine is the value of the wine crossing your palate, especially when matched with a fine meal. It certainly is not from the wine's value crossing your palm. What kind of pure pleasure do you get from the green on the palm? That is short term compaired to the memory of a fine wine and fine meal...............

Mr. Dutton speaks a mouthful, not to mention the mouthful the wine will provide. You will never get rich on one bottle of wine; what is a $100 or so compared to the true pleasure of a top St. Julian?

Robins, As I tried to imply with my 1st post, you have a marvelous DRINKING bottle of wine that has amortized as far as it`s going to. As a single bottle you`d never even realize close to the 100 buck maximum. DRINK-UP winoweenie
