Was wondering if anyone had a good red Italian wine. No regional prefernce, price is not important.

Hi Joe and welcome to the Wine Board. Try a Salice Salentino.

Or....try a Carato by Erik Banti from Tuscany. Very nice blend of Sangiovese and Grenache.

Lately I've been enjoying Barbera, a medium-body, fruity red with enough earth to make it interesting. Goes great with appetizers and light entrees, and best of all, it's inexpensive. In fact, I recall IK posting that less expensive barberas generally are better than more expensive ones.
