What is the correct pronunciation of Chateau D’ Yquem (Yquem is the part that I have a problem with)?

Also, what may be the average price of this wine in the US? I saw ’97 or ’98 vintage for $400 in Saint Marteen.

JV, d'Yquem is pronounced "dee-Kem'" (accent on the second syllable).

"Average" price is tough to call. I see early-'90's locally for $250-$300. Don't think I've seen one from the late '90's, and have no idea what the most recent release would be. Try wine-searcher.com for representative prices from various U.S. and U.K. vendors. As the premier Sauternes, Yquem is always very pricey.

Thanks for your reply.

I was in such a shock when I saw that bottle that I don't even the mind to take a picture of the label!

In the same display they had Laffite, Latour, Margaux, La Mission Haut-Brion, Penfold Grange...

I never in my life have seen so many expensive wine in one place (or at least, I never noticed it before).
