Hello, I am having a Christmas party for about 20 people at my home. Can you please suggest 1 red and 1 white wine that would be good to have. Not too many suggestions as I'll get over-whelmed. I'm new into this also. I would like the price range to be about $8-15 dollars a bottle. Thanks.

Get three 1.5 liter bottles EACH of C.W. Mondavi (not to be confused with Robert Mondavi, sons, and brands) Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Have found on two separate occasions this year with fairly sophisticated guests (rich relatives, and travel writers) that they are well accepted party wines.

IK means CK Mondavi.

Also, look for Duboeuf's Merlot and Chardonnay in 1.5 liter bottles. They should also fit your bill and price.

You're showing your age, WW (aren't we all). My kids tell me it isn't called typing any longer. Now it's keyboard entry, keyboarding for short.

The wines suggested will work when you are serving foods and will be attended by folks who enjoy wines. May I suggest you also provide some sweeter dessert wines and maybe some asti.
