I need to know who are the wine makers that said,"WE WILL SELL NO WINE BE FOR IT'S TIME"? it was a tv ad about 10 or 15 yrs. ago. I think it was two brother in calif.
THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Ernest and Julio Gallo sure comes to mind quickly.

It may not be the right answer, but if I were asked this on "Who wants to be a millionaire", I'd stick by it.

Orson Wells did an add for Gallo "We sell no wine before its time." It was more than 15 years ago, not that I would remember.... (cough)

It was indeed Orson Welles, but it was for Almaden--not for Gallo.

Right pitchman, wrong brand. It was Orson Wells, but he was selling Paul Masson.

Sounds like the old TV show, What's My Line. Will the true winery please stand up......

Bucko

Who was that masked man?

You are absolutely correct, Catch 22. A momentary lapse here in "getting older" land...

- Catch 22 - 03-06-2000

Uh oh, I've just realized that I'm not as young as I'd like to think I am. Not only do I remember wine ads that are 15+ years old, but I also remember What's My Line. Foodie, slide on over and make room for me in "getting older land"....

Okay and just exactly who was Kitty Carlyle?

(spelling may be off a-bit)

Early commercials for $500
Is that your final answer?
Would you like to poll the audience?
Would you use a lifeline?

- Thomas - 03-22-2000

The chin-less lady, Carlyle....
