Okay, so I know that mead is not wine, but I hope that someone here will be able to help me regardless.

I tried to buy a few bottles of Lindisfarne Mead from their web site, and I was told that it is illegal to import mead into the US.

Is that true, and if so, is there a legal way to purchase it? I've looked at a few wine brokers, but I haven't found any that sell it.

thanks,
Angela

Here's three places to try. They may not be able to ship to you, but they may have suggestions as to where you may be able to find a local source.

Heidrun Meadery
Arcata, CA

It shouldn't be illegal to import Mead into the US...actually, its perfectly legal, at least in my state. The beer shop I frequent also has large selection of meads (the owner is an enthusiast and brewer of mead). I tasted a wonderful 25 year old Polish mead with him a while back. Its just unlucky that you live in one of those backwards east coast and southern states.
