- amh0576 - 03-07-2002 Okay, so I know that mead is not wine, but I hope that someone here will be able to help me regardless. I tried to buy a few bottles of Lindisfarne Mead from their web site, and I was told that it is illegal to import mead into the US. Is that true, and if so, is there a legal way to purchase it? I've looked at a few wine brokers, but I haven't found any that sell it. thanks, Angela amh0576@hotmail.com - Kcwhippet - 03-07-2002 Here's three places to try. They may not be able to ship to you, but they may have suggestions as to where you may be able to find a local source. Earle Estates Meadery Locke, NY 315-536-1210 Heidrun Meadery Arcata, CA 877-434-3786 Sky Run Mead Sultan, WA 360-793-6761 - barnesy - 03-09-2002 It shouldn't be illegal to import Mead into the US...actually, its perfectly legal, at least in my state. The beer shop I frequent also has large selection of meads (the owner is an enthusiast and brewer of mead). I tasted a wonderful 25 year old Polish mead with him a while back. Its just unlucky that you live in one of those backwards east coast and southern states. Barnesy |
