- elisapsy77 - 08-15-2006 I have a bridal shower to attend and want to give some wine to the couple. I want to give them 3 bottles, each with a tag attached stating "Best to drink on your 1st wedding anniversary/10th/25th". How do I know which one to buy so that it'll peak in 1 year from now, 10 years from now, & 25 years from now? Any advice will help! THANKS! - Innkeeper - 08-15-2006 Hi Elisapsy and welcome to the Wine Board. Do you have any idea what kind of wine they like? - elisapsy77 - 08-15-2006 They like Pinot Grigio & Pinot Nior best. Got any ideas? - Innkeeper - 08-15-2006 1st: Bortoluzzi Pinot Grigio. 10th: Dehlinger Estate Pinot Noir. 25th: Vintage Porto. - elisapsy77 - 08-15-2006 Thanks! Great info! - CClark - 08-28-2006 Hi, I would like to do the same for a cousin's wedding. Do you know of any good websites where i can do some research, or where i can find more wines and dates of when they should mature. They like everything and i would like to get them a total of 6-8 wines, not too expensive. the 1st 5 years of marriage worth then maybe a 10yr and and 20yr or something like that. Thanks for the help. - Innkeeper - 08-28-2006 Hi CClark, and welcome to the Wine Board. Almost any wine red or white would work for the first five years. For the 10th you can consider a California Cab, a Bordeaux, a Boralo or Barbaresco, an Upper Rhone Red, or certain Australian Shiraz'. For the long range, nothing is as certain as a Vintage Porto, but Sauterne or Ice Wine are white possibilities. For red table wine, a Brunello could work. There is not a lot in the last two categories that is inexpensive. Consult your retailer. |
