- magseyes - 07-15-2003 Could you please tell me the meaning of the word Troken or Trocken. I have heard it used in relation to dry wines. Thank You, Maggie - Tyrrell - 07-15-2003 I believe that the direct translation is... dry - Thomas - 07-15-2003 Trocken does indeed translate to dry. When referring to wine, trocken means dry; hab-trocken is medium or off dry. But the word also is found at the beginning of a description for sweet dessert wine trockenbeerenauslese (sp). In this case the trocken refers to the grapes, which are almost dry when harvested. [This message has been edited by foodie (edited 07-15-2003).] - Jackie - 07-23-2003 Ausgezeichnet! |
