Hi all. I need to settle a bet between friends.
Would chardonnay be considered sweeter than pinot grigio?

You both win because they are both supposed to be dry, yet many makers of both make them sweet or at least "off dry."

One thing that does separate them is oak. It is almost always present in Chardonnay (unless the label clearly states it is unoaked or unwooded), and rarely found in Pinot Grigio. Ecco Domani is an example of oaked PG.
