- winophite - 05-15-2006 I'm new to wine and joined a club and with shipment came a sheet saying: Region: bordeaux, fr total acid: ... alc.. ... cellaring: 2-3 years. My question is, is that how long to wait to drink it,or; how long it should last? I bought two bottles and drank one and it seemed to taste "watery". Any one know? - Innkeeper - 05-16-2006 Without knowing the vintage or producer, it is hard to tell. I think they may be telling you to hold it two or three years before drinking. If that is the case, it may be in a "dumb stage" now. I was trying to answer your post when the computer decided I was persona-non-grata. The time stated on the wine means it should be cellared for 2-3 years for maximum enjoyment. post the name of the vineyard and we can give you more specific info. WW - winophite - 05-16-2006 Hi, the label on this wine says; grand vin de bordeaux 2004 Chateau Haut Redon Bordeaux Blend. France Other than that I don't know how to distinquish its vintage. Thanks - Innkeeper - 05-16-2006 This wine cost $7.99 from the Taste of California Wine Club in Chicago. What you got is what you got. - Thomas - 05-16-2006 The vintage is 2004. That wine producer name rings a bell. The wine club you are in may not be the best way to spend your money. - winophite - 05-16-2006 thanks, discouraging, but thanks. Perhaps it would be better to hook up with the folks at the liquor store for suggesting selections eh? - Innkeeper - 05-16-2006 You bet! |
