The cost of shipping champagne in refrigerated containers is considerably more than non refrigerated. I am getting conflicting advice as to the importance of refrigerated shipping. The factory say it must be held at a constant temperature, which would require refrigeration. Buyers and shippers say that it doesn't need to be refrigerated. I read somewhere that if Champagne is "shocked" by heat it will change its character. What's the scoop? Does anyone ship Champagne in refrigerated containers?
