Nivole Michele Chiarlo Asti and 1997 Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvingnon

Anyone heard of or possibly had either of these?

I loved the Nivole and my husband loved the Cabernet and we cannot find either in our area or anyone that knows anything about them.

A warm welcome to the Wine Board, Sally. Your question on the Caymus was properly answered on one of your duplicate postings. IMHO your husband has the better palate. In regard to the Asti, we love them in certain circumstances. However, we find it hard to tell one from the other. Most any you find in the $10.00 range will probably delight you as much as the Nivoli.

Sally, you should get your hands on Chiarlo's Barbera. This outfit makes truly good wines at good value prices. Why you can't find them in GA is a mystery; they seem widely distributed.

Ask your retailer to look the name up in his supplier books.

The Nivole' is a "Moscato d'Asti", ask around for that, tell them you want it from Italy or from Oregon, and you should come up with a few. I must admit that it is a great bottle (or two) to open when one is in a playful mood.
