hi, i'm new here and i'm new to wine...i had one a couple of years ago and it was great...i'm trying to find it now but it's hard because i don't remember much anymore...all i remember is that it was in a green bottle with a real cork covered on top was a white cover, it was a white wine, it wasn't that strong but it was sweet and kinda zesty or tangy....my friend said cost around $30-$50...if you know of any like this, please let me know....also, if you know any white wine that is sweet with a twist in it, but not too strong or bitter, please let me know....Thanks!!

Kinda sounds like it might have been a German Riesling, sweet and zesty/tangy. Green bottle may indicate from the MSR valley region.

That would be my guess, too. Look for a Spatlese from the MSR (Mosel-Sahr-Ruwer). (Spatlese is pronounced Spate-lay-sah, or Shpate-lay-sah.) And welcome to the board.

I've tried a Columbia Crest Johanisberg Rielsing that was great. Also comes in a green bottle. At around $10.00 it was great.

I would highly recommend a Chilean white wine, Cono Sur Viognier. Truly excellent, in my opinion, and a very good value.

I like Chateu St. Michelle Johanisburg reislin. Also, try their Gewirstraminer! I'd drink it after a meal. If you want a really sweet white dessert wine, try a Muskat Canelli!
