- Marian - 08-05-2005 Hello Everyone My name is Marian and I just found this board. My husband and I just recently got into trying different wines and we have been enjoying the experience, let me tell you.We even got ourselves a wine cooler. Now here is my question. What are the right temperatures for whites and reds?My husband likes white wines and I love reds but it seems the wine cooler itself, only goes by the one temperature. Is this ok?Right now we have it at 12C. - tw - 08-05-2005 Hello marian and welcome to the board. Actually both red and whites require the same temp for long term storage, which is between 55-57f or 13-14c if i am doing my math right. For short term cooling the bottom of the cooler will likely be a bit cooler than the top as we all know hot air rises. So maybe keep the wites at the bottom and the reds at the top. Either way I think will work fine. You can get a temp gauge from your local electronics store for pretty cheap usually. Anyway enjoy your new hobby and keep us posted on any good finds.
