Hello all,

I just started appreciating wine about 1 year ago. Since then, I am still very lost with wines, but I do enjoy drinking a cab or merlot with my steaks. Anyway, since I started loving eating meat again, a friend of mine gave me a Carol Shelton zinfandel. Its suppose to be good and was bottled in 1993. I just wanted to know if anyone knew about this wine.....should I drink it with my next steak or save it for something special???

A clueless wine lover...

Phil

Hi Phil, and welcome to the Wine Board. Your wine is or was an excellent one. Zinfandels, even the best ones, are not know for long legs. Would pop it with your next barbeque. Spicy zins match very well with spicy BBQ sauces.

Hi Ppack and welcome to the board. Drink now with a good steak. If you look under the Zinfandel thread you'll find a recent posting on Caroles' new Zin under her own label. She's a very fine winemaker who made some nice wines for Windsor. WW
