Can someone recommend a website that explains about choosing wine with food. I found one that recommends choosing a sweet wine with a spicy dish. This doesn't help me since I'm not familiar with sweet wines, or fruity wines or any kind. Hope this makes sense.
Also, how do I find out what wines are good to drink on their own.

This is as good a place as any Angie. Go to the Wine/Food Affinities thread and use the "Go" feature above and on the right side of each thread to go back as far as you want, including to the start of the Board.
If that fails you, you might try www.wineanswers.com . If you go to their wine sites there is a whole list involving food.
