I just tried a glass of Chianti for the first time. I asked the guy at the liq. store and he suggested Ecco Domani 2002. He said it was their most popular. It retails for 9.99 but was on sale for 7.49. I doesn't have a real bite like alot of cabs do. I'm thinking I like it. Anybody ever tried this brand?

Hi Lindbrit, and welcome to the Wine Board. I've had it, and it's fine. It's an excellent wine for people who just entering the Italian Wine Scene.

Hi Lindbrit,

I agree that it is a great wine to start with. You will find though that the cabs that you mentioned will taste differently when they are consummed with food.

When you are bbq'ing this summer buy an inexpensive cab and try it. It will probably have the "bite" that you are refering to (which is tannin). Then try the same with the steak you just cooked.

The wine will change. Magic!
