I have recently acquired a bottle of Ruffino Chaianti Classico Riserva Ducale 1967 and I am curious as to the history, flavor characteristics and value of the wine. I am by no means a connoisseur by definition, but I certainly appreciate the bouquet and palate a fine wine can provide. Any items of interest you can provide would be welcomed as I am unsure as to whether to indulge or add this specimen to my collection as a potential investment.
Thank You,
Chris G.

Welcome to the Wine Board Chris. Today's Chiantis are light years ahead of those from, say, 1967. Would use it for weed killer, and stick a candle in the bottle. Dan Berger had an excellent article on Chianti in this week's newsletter. Perhaps he would post at least an abbreviated version on the Wine Board. It would answer many of your questions. Another point is that around here just about all of us would like to drink wine and invest in the stock market.
