OK, I'm old - I admit, but I love the 80's style Chardonnay- bold, voluptous, vanilla, butter, tropical ( no citrus or apple) flavours- any ideas? I don't know if they make this type of charndonnay anymore!

Please help with ideas!

Hi Phaedra, and welcome to the Wine Board. You may think you are old, but you are probably not as old as moi. The short answer is just about any California Chardonnay out there right now. To find one with all the componants you are looking for you need to look for examples above the $20 price point. The reason is that these see some life in actual barrels, and a not just treated to a dose of toasted sawdust as the lower priced Chards are. Personally I don't like oak at all in my white wine, but respect the opinions of those who do. Recommend you go down to the Chardonnay thread, and hit the arrow next to the "Go" button on the top of the tread. Go way back, and you will find lots of good recommendations.
