- kdog - 01-19-2002 I am attending a steak dinner this evening and would like to bring wine. The host likes red wine and I like sweet wines. Is there a wine that is the best of both? - Bucko - 01-19-2002 No, not to go with beef anyway. - kdog - 01-19-2002 What do you suggest to go with such a dinner? - Innkeeper - 01-19-2002 Hi Kdog, and welcome to the Wine Board. Try to find a Cru Beaujolais called Moulin-A-Vent in vintage 1998, 1999, or 2000 in that order. It is heavy enough to handle the steak, and will still taste somewhat sweet to you. - kdog - 01-21-2002 Thank you for the suggestions. I am not only new to wines, but also to chat rooms. This has been a good experience. I have compiled a list of different wines to try from others conversation and am looking forward to experimenting. Again thank you. - Event-Sommelier - 01-21-2002 Another option would be a good Rose' from the south of France like a Tavel... Keep on tasting - different things till you find what you like. Cheers!
