About 8 years ago I was given two cases of wine, Being 20 at the time I had no interest in wines and so stored them in my parents cellar. They have stayed there until today when my parents had a mass clear out and they emerged.
I was wondering firstly if they are drinkable. It is fairly damp and very dark in there but they have not been moved for a very long time, I seem to remember a friend of mine saying you need to turn over wine if it is stored.
One case is a case of Chateau Giscours 1992 Margaux and the other is a case of Chateaux La Tour Blanche 1989 Medoc. If there is anybody out there who knows these wines could they please advise me how much they are worth and if they are worth storing or drinking.

Thankyou in advance

Hi Cathersides.... and welcome! The best thing I can recommend.... is to open up a bottle of each and see how they taste, and see if you like them, and if they are still drinkable. Your Chateau Giscours is one of the classified growths of Bordeaux (3rd growth,) basically meaning it is one of the better wines from Bordeaux. However, 92' was an "off" year for wines from Bordeaux, so it's hard to tell you what you can expect, except that the ones that tasted half decent were early maturing wines. As long as your parents cellar is on the cool side, I think your wine should at least still be drinkable, perhaps even enjoyable, but it is not likely to improve by letting it age any longer. Drink up!

As far as your other wine, I am not familiar with it.... but again, the best thing I can suggest is to open one up and see how it is. Good luck!
