why general red wines are more expensive than rose? and what makes rose wine rose?

Hi Sky, and welcome to the Wine Board. Almost all reds are more expensive than rose, especially if made from the same grape. Rose wines have very limited contact with skins, while red wines have extensive contact with them. Rose wines almost only come from red or black grapes.

A lot of the price of wine is unrelated to quality, the amount of work that goes into winemaking, etc. In large part, price is related to marketing, hype, and what is in favor at the moment. Rose is less expensive in large part because not as many people want to buy them. I, for one, am happy about this....remember..rose = bad...don't buy....
