I'm taking a girl out for a nice dinner and then coming back to my house. We wont be eating anything just drinking, emphasis on a drinking wine, not sipping, and watching movies. I hear white wines are more fruity?... i would prefer a fruitier wine, nothing to strong or overwhelming for 2 first time wine'ers... what to buy?..im from champaign illinois by the way. home of the fighting illini.
Oh, i almost forgot. my friend tells me white zinfandels are very good. What type of wine is this and would it be what im looking for? wow, lots of questions here.

Hi Adam, and welcome to the Wine Board. Recommend an after dinner (also known as a dessert) wine. Since you seem to prefer white to red, look for Bonny Doon Muscat de Glacieres. It is sort of a poor man's ice wine. He freezes the grapes before pressing them. Great effect. Even at $18 for 375 ml it is a geat value for this type of wine. Serve ice cold in small glasses.
