- Puccino - 04-15-2002 I may not have enough information here, but was wondering if anyone could tell me what grapes might have been used in the following wine: '93 Dallas Conti. Unfortunately, that is all I know - had it last night with friends at a dinner party, but didn't have the opportunity to learn anything about this wine specifically. Was quite good (we had it with our cheese platter), although a little closed. Maybe one more year of downtime would have enhanced it even more. Thanks for any thoughts on the varietal. Puccino - hotwine - 04-15-2002 Wine-searcher.com turned up a single vendor here in the States of a Cabernet Sauvignon from Dallas Conti, offering it at $11.69 per bottle. And Altavista turned up a restaurant offering a Dallas Conti Merlot; I believe it was priced at something like $7 per glass and $23 per bottle. So it seems that the vintner produces both Cab and Merlot, and you could have had either one, or perhaps even a blend that didn't appear in the search. - Puccino - 04-17-2002 Thanks Hotwine for the information. Maybe I can track down the host of the dinner and find out exactly which one we had. Puccino |
