OK, my ignorance is really showing, but just what does QPR mean....?

- Bucko - 06-07-2006

Quality Price Ratio -- in other words, good bang for the buck.

Ok, so 'quality price ratio' I'm assuming means I'm getting a wine I want as a staple in my home for next to nothing?

- Innkeeper - 06-07-2006

Yes and no. If you get a wine that is worth $100 for $50 and you really believe it is worth the $100 and it sells for $50, that wine is also a good QPR.

I like to look at it this way: if the going rate for wines in a particular class is higher than what I pay for a wine in that class and that I truly like and feel is on a par in quality with the others, then I found a good QPR wine.
