Has anyone passed/taken the Advanced Test of the Court of the Master Sommeliers? Do you know anyone?

I have a few questions and I'm looking for direction.

I was told that the test included both a test (tough) and a practical side (a service test of multiple wines to MS's) plus a practical testing test. Good luck... heard it was not easy.

Why not contact one of the "Big Guys" directly? Both Andrea Immer Robinson and Jancis Robinson are very receptive and answer their mail.

Innkeeper,

Jancis is an MW, not MS - and when I was going for the introductory I did contact a few of the Ms's from their website with a question and no one responded.

The questions I have at the moment are: Do I need to know all 426 Premier Cru Burgundys? Do I need to know all the clones?

I have so much to study and I'd rather not waste my time with it if I won't be tested on it.

This is why I'd like to speak with someone who has taken the test recently.

Well both have answered less important questions off their websites, and Andrea is an MS. All I know about Pinot clones, is that some folks in CA CA land think they are important!

I don't know much about the clones and I plan to study them. It's just a matter of how much do I have to know!

That's the tough part.

I know of one person who has both an MS and MW and I will try to find his name. He is known to be fairly approachable as well as he works retail in the trade.
