I have several Rieslings, Gewurztraminers, Merlots, and Cabernets. Are there some good rules of thumb for the best ages to drink them and limits for keeping them?

VERY general....
Merlot...within 5 years of vintage
Cabernet...within 10 years of vintage
Rieslings and Gewurz (except late harvest styles)...from the U.S.....1-3 years - German and Alsatian versions tend to age longer due to higher acidity/lower pH
There are tons of variables...some big Merlots age more like Cabernets...some Rieslings age for a decade and longer...each wine is different and unique.
