Hello everyone.

I met a very nice woman the other night who ordered a glass of white zinfandel. I asked her if she ever drank any other kind of wine, and she said that she really liked the taste of white zinfandel. I need a recommendation of a REALLY good white zinfandel (is there such a thing?) or a GREAT Rose that I can give her as a gift. Any suggestions! THANKS!

Beringer makes about the best White Zinfandel. I'd suggest you also try to find a Vin Gris at your nearest fine wine shop. Vin Gris is a wine made much like white Zin, but it's a more serious drink made generally from Rhone varietals. There are several Vin Gris out there, and you should be able to find one made by either Bonny Doon, Cline Preston, Lewis or another winery.

If it's the sweetness she likes, then it will be hard to match with a good Rose. But you might try a Rose de Provence, just to see if she could take it, and to see for yourself how good a Rose can be.
