I am wanting to know the value of a bottle of wine I have in my possesion.
It is a large unopened bottle of 1964 Ricasoli Chianti wine, bottom half encase in a wicker basket.

What is glass recycle worth there?

Hello Surinda,

Welcome to the wine board!

Bucko was being a smarta**. Shame on him.

Chianti's of that level really won't be worth anything, unless someone is looking for the particular vintage and has no desire to open it. Some people like to have the bottles because it's from a year of birth or anniversary.

You might want to try Ebay with the disclaimer that the wine may not be drinkable.

Good luck.

I'll bet the disclaimer would be right on and more like "truth in selling..."

What is needed is a general disclaimer somehow to get out to the general public that the majority of wines hanging around over the years are just about worthless.

Can be part of the new thread discussed in the Tech Thread. WW

Welcome Surinda-

From a wine stand point, they are correct. The wine has probably turned to vinegar. The e-bay thing might be a good idea. The "in" thing right now in a designing point of view is Italian/Tuscan themes. It would make an interesting conversation piece.

Thanks for the info. I think I will just keep it as a decorative touch. It looks pretty nice in my office.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
