Hello - I'm new to the world of wine but do have 3 bottles I would like to have more info on. 1) 1978 Clos du Bois Proprieter's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2) 1983 Clos des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape and 3) 1983 Stag's Leap Cabernet

Is there a web site I may go to to find valuation, pricing, when to drink, etc?
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Elle

ellemasse, the Clos du bois I can't comment on. The 1983 vintage was very good for CDP but the Clos des Papes might be over the hill. The 1983 vintage for California was not very good and the Stags Leap is probably dead. Go ahead and pop em with a back up bottle at the ready.

Ellemasse, welcome to the board. Just so happens we opened a Stags 83 on Saturday. This botle was not from good storage and was DEAD. Nothing left but tannins and acid. I fear the same fate for the 78 Clos duBois. Even the big guns from 78 have ridden off into the sunset. Drew gave you good advice, pop them Dude-o-roonies open and give `em a shot. HNY. winoweenie
