This is actually a two part question.
First part-I was invited to one of my bosses home for a Christmas party. I would like to bring a nice bottle of wine for them. I don't know how big of wine drinkers they are though so I don't want to spend a lot of money and have the bottle go to waste and not be enjoyed as it should. Can someone please suggest a nice bottle of Red wine that cost around $10.
second part- while picking up the first bottle of wine I would also like to grab a bottle for my friend and myself. She and I do enjoy wine a lot. She knows more about wine than I do though, so I'd like to get something a bit different for us. Definitely a red wine. I was thinking something of a Zinfandel or Pinot Noir as I'm just starting to try them out. I'd like to stay away from Merlot's and Cab's as we have that all the time. Price can be a bit broader up to $20. Hope I gave enough information. Sorry if it's so broad.

Well this one is getting of play today, but I have no problem passing it on. For both questions a good answer is Marietta Old Vine Red. For you and galpal buy two.

Check out some of the 2001 Australian Shiraz.
The vintage has shown many very good wines at low prices. I personally think it will be as good, if not better, than the '98 stellar vintage. BTW, if you can find some of the '01 Marquis-Phillips Aussie line give one of those to your boss....a promotion should soon follow.
