I have always been a wine lover, but I just came of a legal age to actually drink freely. I would like to know what it is that I could do to begin my quest in the world of wines.

Hi Msat, and welcome to the Wine Board. Hope you come back often. I just posted the title of an excellent new book on the thread: "Widely available wines," which should be just below yours.

Another good source for wines information are wine shops. Many will track you wine choices and then give recomendations based upon feedback you give them.

Go in and tell them your new to the world of wines and would like recomendations. They sould recomend $10-20 price range of wines to you. Try several different types. After giving them "reports" about what you liked and disliked about the wines you tried, they should be able to guide you better.

If you are in a region that has wineries, tasting rooms are another good place to get the initial likes and dislikes down.
