- jv38 - 07-27-2005 Been reading about Boxed wine lately and I have seen a lot of boxed wine in my supermarket. Some like Delicato and Hardyn. Those wines I tried before (from bottles) and they are not great but not bad for the price. Did anybody have any experiences with those wines? - Innkeeper - 07-27-2005 I'm familar with the brands, but not their boxes. From what I have heard, you should get the boxes from a moderate to upscale producer which does not include these. - dananne - 07-28-2005 Boxing Roo Shiraz isn't too bad. And the Three Thieves jug wine is pretty darned good. - Kcwhippet - 07-28-2005 Some of the best I've seen are Black Box (@$20) for Chard, Merlot and CS and Gravel Mine. GM makes a Pinot Noir that's very nice, but it goes for @$65. Both are 3 liter boxes. Three Thieves calls their box wine Bandit and it's quite nice - in a one liter juice box type container. Hardy's Stamp from Australia is decent juice. Then there's the "other" stuff from folks like Franzia. |
