Okay, here's the deal... I've been given a bottle of Hunter Valley semillon. (Rosemount Estate Show Reserve 2002) Checked out the tasting notes on their website, only to discover this gem.

"Peak drinking: 2003-2015"

Yowza... so, what's the advice? Pop it now with a good meal somewhere? Or squirrel it away until I'm 42 and having trouble remembering where I left it? (Ducks fusilade of missile thrown by the 40+ club for that crack...)

A twelve year-long peak? I should have been so lucky.

Get a case and drink one bottle each over the next 12 years--make copious notes, because you'll want to compare them when you are so damned old you won't be able think on your own...

Move to the practical mean, you young whippersnapper. Put it away for 5 or 6 years.

Unless the right opportunity comes up to drink it before then ....

Well, thanks for the replies and suggestions, guys.

I am of course, now more confused than ever.
