Hi

I'm totally new to this so please bear with me for a moment

My friends has recently introduced me to wines and i kind of enjoyed some and i would like to purchase some to keep it at home. Just wondering

1) Is there any expiry date for wine be it red or wine ?
2) I notice that some wine has indicated on label that it is best consumed from 2002 to 2006. Does that means after 2006 the wine is no long drinkable ?
3) how do I know the wine is spoilt cos different wine has different taste?

Think that's about all

Hi TN and welcome to the Wine Board. Most wine that you buy with the possible exception of the End Bin, are still drinkable, and over 90% of them are ready to drink, and should be drunk within a year or two. Most wines will last up to five years from vintage date and many especially reds will last much longer and even improve. A small number of whites will too, for example some Rieslings, Chenin Blancs, and Sauvignon Blancs, especially those from Europe. There is much more to this subject, but this a start.
