I have had a bottle of Bolla Amarone "Cantina Del Nonna" 14% (bottled in Verona) for many years. Unfortunately, the vintage date which was glued on the top of the bottle cam off. Therefore, I have no idea of the date except I remember purchasing it on an Italian liner during 1970/71. There is a number inglossed on the lable "69670". Can you advise how I can confirm the vintage date and do you think its worth holding, drinking or selling?

I had a similar experience with a bottle of Korbel. I wanted to know the year it was produced, since I'd had it for quite some time. I e-mailed them with the embossed number on the label and they gave me the production date.

I suggest you get a friend and pop the cork. The wine is certainly of suspect provence and without a legible lable no buyer would be interested in paying any thing for it. I.E. , the solution is to drink it and hope you experience something memorable. Winoweenie
